NWPAs shortlist announced: North West property sector recognised

The NWPAs 2018 - sponsored by Stewart Milne HomesThe shortlist for the NWPAs, sponsored by Stewart Milne Homes, has been announced.

The annual event, taking place on 11 October, will celebrate a year of success across the property industry when it’s held at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral’s Lutyens Crypt.

Broadcaster Simon ‘Rossie’ Ross, who has been on the airwaves for over 25 years, will host the glittering ceremony.

The shortlist for a host of accolades recognising the best new homes and regeneration projects to those giving back to the communities they work within has been unveiled.

In the Show Home of the Year category, three Cheshire developments make up the shortlist. Redrow Homes’ ‘The Highgrove’ at Woodford Garden Village is up for the award alongside ‘The Malborough’ at Winterley Gardens by Stewart Milne Homes and ‘The Winstone’ at Black Firs Park by David Wilson Homes.

The shortlist for Best Large New Home Development features Kingswood Homes’ Green Hills development in Blackburn; Upton Pines in Wirral by Stewart Milne Homes and Pavilion Gardens I & II and Victoria Mews – part of the Kew development in Southport – by Barratt and David Wilson Homes.

Four law firms across the North West are up for the Best Property Law Firm award. Shortlisted firms include Kirwans Solicitors, Morecrofts Solicitors, MSB Solicitors and Slater Heelis.

In the Best Small New Home Development category, projects in Knowsley, Manchester, Liverpool and Lancashire have been recognised. Making up the shortlist are Roby Nook in Knowsley by TJ Thomas; Residenza in Manchester, designed by Calderpeel Architects; City Residence in Liverpool, designed by Fibre Architects and Bluebrook in Lancashire by Redwing Living.

The Regeneration Award will be given to the project which most clearly demonstrates a positive impact, or likely positive impact, on an area and its community. The three Liverpool developments up for the award include Legacie Developments’ Reliance House and Dale Street projects, The Welsh Streets by Placefirst and Urban Sleep for Brunswick Park.

In the category for Best Student Landlord, three providers are in the shortlist for delivering outstanding service – Oliver Andrew, Kexgill and Fresh Student Living.

Meanwhile, Moor Hall restaurant in Aughton is up for Best Commercial Scheme alongside Halton Housing’s Waterfront Point headquarters and Kays Medical in Liverpool.

The Best Affordable Home accolade will celebrate the home for sale or rent that offers the best value for money in terms of space, running costs, incentives, functionality and quality. Making up the shortlist are Sandon Gardens in Wirral by Liverpool Mutual Homes; The Welsh Streets in Liverpool by Placefirst and Chislehurst in Liverpool by Riverside Home Ownership.

The Community Award will celebrate an organisation making a real difference to the community it works within by building a better future. The two nominees for this award are Stewart Milne Homes and Mossley Hill Church by Denovo Design.

Finally, the Residential Property Agency of the Year award will be presented to the residential sales or letting agency which consistently delivers the highest levels of customer service, and can also evidence success through digital marketing. Shortlisted agencies are Abode, Urban Sleep, Corrie and Co and Sanderson James.

The NWPAs judges include director of Falconer Chester Hall, Alastair Shepherd, CEO of Knowsley Chamber, Lesley Martin-Wright and Elaine Cunningham, owner of Elaine Cunningham Design Studio.

Stewart Milne Homes is this year’s headline sponsor while Redrow Homes, 360Vu, No Name by Capricorn Kitchens, Bogans Carpets, Redwing Living, Anwyl Homes and Watts Commercial Finance are supporting as category sponsors. Furnish That Room will sponsor the drinks reception.
